Kulitan Blues

Here are some photos taken at Megamall after the BM Execomm meeting. Just plain kakulitan!

"This way, baby!"

"Whoah! Talking about being towering!"

With wacky friends around, life is NOT boring at all! :-P

Craving for Aristocrat

Yes... we gave in to our hearts' (and tummies') desire. Jim and I finally satisfied our craving when we headed to Aristocrat Restaurant along Jupiter for some hearty digging in. What have we got?

Fresh Lumpiang Sariwa (ooh so garlicky sweet!)
and Sago't Gulaman.

The ever famous Chicken BBQ... so juicy and tasty,
especially when served with the Java sauce.

And the star of the night...

Torta De Los Reyes! Interwoven layers of chocolate,
wafer sheets and ganache...
Ooh so decadent!

A dinner such as this... so heavenly! :-P

Velvety Good

I stumbled upon this photo while I was surfing the net last night...

Velvet D'Amour stands 5 feet 8 inches tall,
and weighs approximately 290 pounds.

She appeared as a "plus-size" model in Jean-Paul Gaultier's 2007 Spring/Summer prèt-â-porter collection in Paris, October 2006. She made waves at the said fashion show, and defended herself and other models versus the society being partial or biased on how people look. This is one of her quotes from Jezebel:

The general reason one gets as to why there is not more representation of curvier folks within modern media is that inclusion would be equivalent to acceptance, and acceptance would then equal condoning, which would mean they support alleged ill health. The odd dichotomy is that whilst people like myself are banned due to the purported notion we will somehow 'promote' being unhealthy, we are besieged with media saturated with imagery of Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan. How these women represent good health is somewhat beyond me.

That rocks! Now who says fat people can't strut their stuff on the catwalk? You go, girl! I wonder if there are fat guys around who'll invade the runway too... :-P

Gadgets and Gizmos Galore

When we were in Trinoma last weekend, we came across this newly opened store...

@ the 3rd floor of the mall (thanks to Jun Labao for the pic).

This is a pretty cool shop! It offers different gadgets and gizmos, including laptop stands, alarm clocks, solar powered battery packs, digital picture frames, stuff for cellphones and iPods and even wallets with a digital picture pocket where you can store photos from your computer! Here's one product they sell...

A desktop beverage warmer... perfect pang-opis!

From the website:

Brookstone is a nationwide specialty retailer offering an assortment of consumer products that are functional in purpose, distinctive in quality and design and not widely available from other retailers. Brookstone first introduced itself to the world in a small classified ad selling "hard-to-find tools" in Popular Mechanics Magazine. The year was 1965.
And the rest is history. :-P

Frank Ain't A Threat

MANILA, Philippines- Typhoon "Frank" slightly changed course anew Saturday night and will likely hit Metro Manila early Sunday, state weather forecasters said.
This news didn't push as a threat to the pack. We still managed to meet up to unwind after a strenuous week.

We went to...

Obvious ba? Hee hee!

We were supposed to do some Nancy Drew sleuthing but alas... it was a failure! LOL! We then decided to go to Janero Bar and Grill, within the outskirts of ABS-CBN.

Fun! Nes had a good job rendering
Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" impromptu.

Sunday came, and I still went to work (my 7th straight day... aargh!). To relax after the stressful (and all wet) day, we went to Central @BF Paranaque (the favorite Sunday night habit).

All of us getting ready to splurge on Surfer Boy, pork bbq, and isaw. :-D

As usual, spoiling was never absent!

JimNev @Central...

... Dave @Tropical Hut...

... and Badz (nice facial expression, dude).

The barkada met Chris, the new guy on the block.

That's him, on my right. Nice meeting you, pare!

The wind was still howling and the raindrops kept on falling... despite that, the group had uber enjoyment! :-P

Signs Of The Times

Thank God it's Friday! Unlucky me, I have work 'til Sunday! Boo hoo! Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to tomorrow... I'll be spending time with my friends! To end the hectic week, here are some hilarious signs I received in my mailbox...

Hahaha! Anyone interested?!

Humorous but true.

Oh well! Have a fun weekend everyone! :-P

Back at Canyon Cove

We were ecstatic to be back in Nasugbu last Saturday night. Need some proof?

What's playing? "Just Got Lucky" by the Jo Boxers, I guess...

10 li'l boys...

The night air was humid but that didn't stop us
from having our regular drinking session!

Beach volleyball was fun, especially when stolen moments were captured!
Nice shot,
Dave!

Goofing around with 1st timers Nes, Richard & Achi
(who were enjoying themselves, obviously).

Spoiling pictures is still part of the game!

Candid or not candid, that is the question...

The whole experience was memorable once more. Thanks, my dear friends, for one heck of a Father's Day with you.

Even if my Dad (and the rest of my loved ones) are oceans away... you always make me feel like you're my family!

No surprising amount of ATM money, expensive bags nor high-tech gadgets can surpass that! :-P

Amici Must-Try's

Last Monday night was another Amici moment, this time, with Paupau. We all had pasta and gelato, each of us having different combinations. Pau had Spaghetti ala Carbonara then Mango Jubilee Gelato; Jim had Lasagna al Forno then Sans Rival Gelato while I had Penne al Salmone Affumicato (smoked salmon cream pasta) then Jackfruit Gelato. Mmmmm! We shared one pizza though...

Genovese con Gamberetti...
Thin-crust pizza with shrimps, basil leaves, smothered with pesto sauce!

If you're hungry and want some Italian food pronto, go to Amici di Don Bosco, corner Arnaiz Avenue (formerly Pasay Road) and Chino Roces Ave (formerly Pasong Tamo). They won't fail you! :-P

Churrito Pleasure

As usual, last Sunday night led our barkada to one of our favorite hang-outs, Central Bar & Grill.

This time, I wasn't able to hide my sleepiness... I was a li'l bit tired from work and I only had 4 hours of sleep prior to that. After my friends caught me several times dozing off to Wonderland, Jim and I decided to grab some caffeine at Churrito Cafe, just adjacent to the bar. I'm glad we did! I ordered 1 mug of hot Mochachino and this...

Crispy churros with thick signature hot chocolate, orange-flavored & sugar-free!

I couldn't resist dunking!

Now that made me awake and perky!
Visit Central and Churrito Cafe along Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes Paranaque. :-P

Steve Abbu's Big Day!

Last Saturday night was dedicated to one of the smartest and zaniest among the bunch.

It was his big day...

... with a li'l bit spoiling at the side.

It was his time to blow the candles...

... while others were goofing around.

It was the finest night to party...

... and sing all the blues away!

It was the moment for him to shine...

... and spend quality time with his beloved friends. :-)

To John Steve Abbu, we hope you had a blast on your birthday! Rest assured, you won't lose US! :-P

More Clever Ads

Here's the other installment of clever advertising...

Smokers... BEWARE!

Mr. Clean stands out!

Big LEGO for giants!

Can you bring this to your school or office?

Yaaaaa! It's like an earthquake!

I am just so amused with these ads! :-P

Ingenious!

Here are some ads which I find clever and skillful. Who thinks of these ones?!

I haven't seen this one at the MRT/LRT...

Oooh! Pretty daring!

I'm sure our local telephone companies won't copy this... I hope NOT!

Cute!

Soccer, anyone?

As sharp as a field mower...

And this... amazing!

Square watermelons! The Japanese rocks!

More to follow! :-P

Gelato Heaven

I'm off from work today. There's nothing better to do at home so I went to the nearby Waltermart for some grocery shopping. Then I had this sudden feel-good urge when I saw...

from L-R: Blueberry, Macapuno, Mango Jubilee, Chocolate Chips & Mint and Chips

It's the Amici di Don Bosco gelato corner! Uber yum-o! What did I pick? The one at the middle! Just to give you a clearer picture of this delectable treat, I grabbed a photo from ToniGirl (thanks!).

Looks lusciously good, isn't it? Trust me, it is! It's loaded with fruits like blueberry, strawberry and peaches on a mango-based dense ice cream. For only Php50 per scoop, it's a sure-fire affordable dessert! Good thing Amici di Don Bosco is just a stone's throw away from our place! :-P
