Crazy for Krispy Kreme

I got off from work early last night. My friends Cel and Francis made me tag along to Krispy Kreme at the Jaka Building on Ayala Avenue. Cel's been craving like crazy for doughnuts! And we crazily took pictures, too!

That's Cel and Francis... looking good together!

And it's me ... with my signature "Japan" sign!

There were so many doughnut varieties to choose from! I came up with...

Chocolate-Iced Raspberry-Filled &
Blueberry Cheesecake
plus Diet Dr. Pepper!

I was just barely touching my 2nd doughnut when I suddenly felt dizzy ... a sign of sugar overload!

It's so unusual for me to have leftovers!

That was lethal! Good thing I had cups of water to flush out excess saccharine.

Poor me! :-(

Lesson learned: In Krispy Kreme, one doughnut is more than enough! :-P

Me in South Park

My boss, Mark, showed me a link which allows you to create your very own South Park avatar. I then remember the days when I was obsessed with the fat kid Eric Cartman, even if his persona exudes self-centeredness and bigotry. I even had a Cartman throw pillow before! Now, I'm happy I've come up with my own character...

Ain't it cute? :-P

Can't Stop A River

Right now, it seems everything had gone haywire. Tears have been shed... bridges have been burned. I believe things happen for a reason. Whatever reason that may be, I'm still looking at the bright side. I'm an optimistic and resilient person. I know that after the storm, the sun will shine through. In relation to this, I saw a YouTube video of Guy Sebastian's live performance on Australian Idol. This made me smile today...

I love it! :-P

The Long Weekend - Nasugbu

Oh yes! It's a spur of the moment thing, again... we decided to go back to Canyon Cove in Nasugbu for the 4th time last Sunday, after spending the night in Tagaytay.

Ang lugar na kaysarap balik-balikan!

Most of us spent the night sleeping...
to gain rejuvenation for a great day ahead!

Then, as early as 6:30am, we headed down to the pool area...

We didn't forget to shower...
and pose for the camera!

Then everything went on spontaneously...

... in the pool,

... exploring the sea,

... projecting by the beach!

Some of us had candid moments...

... looking far beyond, fathoms deep...

... and enjoying the wonders of nature
right before our eyes!

And we definitely had the grandest time laughing...

... despite the scorching heat of the sun!

We just savored every minute we were together...

... jumping with joy...

... and bonding with zest and enthusiasm!

At the end of the day, we were all exhausted but undeniably happy...

... with sunburn to boot...

... plus a tiring but fun hike back to the condo...

... but hey,
that was all worth it!

Thanks Ed for bringing us back to this awesome place...

Bye... for now. 'Til we come back again! :-P

The Long Weekend -Tagaytay

Our long weekend kicked off Saturday night as the group went on a road trip to Edward's rest house in Tagaytay. As usual, we had uber fun! We couldn't resist doing karaoke!

It's me singing "Bluer Than Blue", my signature song...

Achi belting it out with chuwariwaps on the side.

And it's Abbu, the diva... his turn to rock the world!

There were other stuff accomplished that night...

...like ghost story-telling,

... boozing around,

... and playing truth or DARE! ("OMG, totoo ba yan?!")

Almost all of us were up the whole night! The following day, we watched some movie files from Ed's laptop. We then had lunch (bulalo cooked for almost 4 hours and fried chicken). Burp! Then, before sunset, we did...

Jumpshots! :-)

Group effort was more fun!

At the end of the day, I said to myself...

I love my friends! :-P

Yaya Mode!

Today's my last rest day for the 7am-4pm sked. Tomorrow, after 1 year, I'll be back to the early morning-taxi requiring 4:30AM shift. That means, I have to set the alarm at 3:30AM, grab a mug of coffee and rush to work! Hope I'll get used to this again...

Anyway, I made good use of my off today. I did my laundry, went to the grocery, scrubbed the bathroom toilet bowl, floors and walls, swept the floor and cleaned the fridge. Yayang-yaya! To cap it all, I watched "Caregiver" on my laptop... the clear copy courtesy of Edward. Yaya mode talaga!

Oh there's more... I cooked pasta for my baon tomorrow. I made linguine with sauce made from olive oil, lots of garlic, shrimp and...

Pesto from my sister... Mmmmm!

Hay naku, I should better hit the sack at around 9. :-P

My POV on Friendship

I am in the mood right now to talk about friendship so please, bear with me. True friendship is quite difficult to find, and more importantly, more difficult to keep. And yes, friendship encompasses trust, which is a terrible thing to waste. I've been blinded before, giving trust to somebody who criticizes in a treacherous manner while feigning “'friendship”... somebody, who would talk ill of a certain person, then, at the end, when all of the people around him grew tired of his ways, would be chummy again with that particular person (even believing what that person says, without any concrete evidence and given that person's questionable credibility). In short, somebody not worthy of my trust, even the group's trust. Everybody makes mistakes and I've learned from them. I would try my best not to commit them again.

In friendship, it’s important to strive for humility... to accept one’s faults and try to flatten the bumps along the way. In friendship, one should not draw conclusions on a certain issue without having a clear understanding of what really transpired. One can’t say he’s always the victim when in fact, he’s not. Why should one not bother asking what truly happened?

In friendship, one shouldn’t point fingers to somebody for being self-absorbed when the fact is, he should look in front of the mirror and ask himself “Am I guilty of that?!”. Again, the issue of projection comes in... it’s like the pot calling the kettle black. It’s a psychiatric thing so medical help is badly needed.

In friendship, one should be a good listener. It is not a one-way road! One should give his undivided attention to a friend when he’s talking about how his day was or whatever topic he’s been sharing. In short, one’s not always the center of attraction (or the universe, for that matter).

In friendship, one shouldn’t flaunt one’s achievements like seeking for glory. One should let people notice them, not for him to brag about. It’s quite hard to admire someone whose ego precedes him. Yes, one can have the nicest gadgets, the chicest bags and accessories or the biggest ATM money in town but at the end of the day, people would look at him as a boastful and arrogant person.

Friendship enhances our lives and makes us strong and happy. I, for one, love making friends. I wouldn't consider a capricious or unstable person because if I was, i wouldn't have different groups of friends who, through all these years, have been trustworthy, reliable and worth keeping. Fickleness isn't my cup of tea... and I'm proud of that.

Friendship has its ups and downs (one can say it's dramatic)... but no matter what happens, I would enjoy the ride. My friends are important to me and will always have room in my life. I know deep in my heart I've always been (and will always be) a good friend... most importantly to people deserving of such friendship.

On that note, I’m safe to say, without any pretensions... I have true love and peace. :-P

Groove!

The BM Groove Dance Event last Saturday night was a blast! The group soared to exalted heights with an amazing attendance level... more than a 100 party people signed in!

I was one of them... and I got free rubber! Haha!

Pica-pica was served even before the program took off...

... Jim and I couldn't resist being first on the line!

Job well done to the party organizers!

It felt really good to blow the birthday candle, wasn't it? :-)

The night wouldn't be much groovy without the presence of such fab friends!

It was Joey and Oliver's first time to attend a BM event!
Nice smile, Mervin!

Of course, the barkada wouldn't miss such an exciting thing like this!

We couldn't get enough of dancing the night away!

Again, kudos to Ardee and the rest of the guys. Happy birthday! :-P

Of Cakes, Kabab and Friends

We went to Party A-Venue in Timog to witness our friends "strut their stuff " for the dance event the following night. The Friday night dance rehearsals went out well... everybody seemed to be engrossed with their moves! Craving for dessert, we sneaked out and grabbed something to please our sweet tooth. Destination: Cake2Go, just a block away!

Uhmm yum-oh Dulce de Leche Cheesecake!
The cake of the month ('
di ba obvious?!).

Their bestseller... Toblerone Overload (go figure!)

There were too many choices! Jim got French Apple Crumble Pie... I savored Sans Rival, sugar-free! Way comforting in every bite!

After the practice, we went to one of our favorite eating havens in QC...

I usually get Falafel Sandwich or Shawarma in plate with buttered rice but this time, I tried Special Chelo Kabab (thank Gad it's spelled with C-H!)...

... with Beryani rice. Affordable and satisfying!

What's more satisfying?

Being with the coolest friends in town! :-P
